The Dusty Miller Inn, Mytholmroyd ♥ (AD)

A lovely Yorkshire pub, The Dusty Miller Inn is situated in the little village of Mytholmroyd. Home to delicious pub grub, pulled ales and a stunning beer garden, perfect for the pending summer months. They serve up everything from Ploughman lunches, jackets spuds, hearty pies and, of course, fish and chips.

On Friday night I was kindly invited to The Dusty Miller Inn to give you the low down on everything from the service to the food.

A Sharing Platter Of Dreams

When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely member of staff behind the bar, they showed us to the table, took a drinks order and gave us the evening menu. All the staff we meet, including the head chef, were super attentive, friendly and willing to chat to us about the pub and the menu.

For food on a Friday eve they do a selection of small plates, lovely hearty pub grub and more. When it comes to the small plates you can even build your own sharing board of four plates and that is what we did. We also got an extra dish of the prawns – a must try!

On our sharing board we got the following:

🐮chilli beef nachos, salsa, guacamole and sour cream

🍄wild garlic mushrooms and ciabatta

🍗spicy fried chicken strips with cajun gravy

🦑battered salt and pepper squid with aioli and lemon

🦐tiger prawns with homemade sweet chilli sauce

The food was great! They only opened the kitchen up in October and they are already smashing it. The mushrooms were garlicky and you get a huge portion, the squid was cooked perfectly and the homemade nachos were exceptional! You can’t beat food that is completely made from scratch and cooked from the heart. We also loved the crispy chicken strips with cajun gravy and the sweet chill sauce that was served with the prawns was amazing – they need to sell it by the bottle.

A Proper Yorkshire Pub Pie

Next up, the pie! You can’t go to a Yorkshire pub and not try the pie, so thats exactly what we did. The pie of the day was mince, onion and potato pie served with homemade chips, mushy peas and proper gravy. When it came to the pie, it was actually one of the best pub pies I have had in a long time. Packed to the brim with filling, closed in buttery pastry – what more could you want? Everything from the homemade chips to the mushy peas and gravy were tasty and full of flavour.

Week Day Deals And Jubilee Celebrations

The Dusty Miller Inn have an abundance of week day deals, cocktails and even a lovely gin menu. They also have have some amazing deals on this jubilee weekend, from afternoon tea and ploughman’s lunch for as little as £8 to Friday fish and chip supper for two for £18. Why not spend a little bank holiday fun at this lovely Yorkshire pub? I highly recommend you go and check them out!
